I’ve been saying for years that I wanted to start a blog.  I’m not sure if I didn’t have the courage to try or hadn’t found my voice yet but – finally – here I am!  About six months ago I committed to working on myself from the inside out.  The driving force was an overwhelming desire to be happier and healthier.  Since then I’ve found yoga (honestly, where had it been all my life?!), changed my diet, started meditating, and found inspiration in people like Bethenny Frankel, Gabby Bernstein, Kristin McGee, and Kris Carr.

I’m just an everyday girl trying to find balance by focusing on health and wellness.  I don’t always get it right.  Clearly from my blog name I have an intense love affair with coffee.  I sometimes choose watching Bravo over hitting the yoga mat and I don’t always remember to stop and breath.  But, I’m trying.  I hope this blog will allow me to share my successes, struggles, inspirations, and favorite things with you and that you’ll do that same.

No one would call me Spontaneous Stephanie.  I’m the girl who asks “What should we have for dinner?” while eating breakfast.  Who am I kidding?!  I sometimes ask the question at breakfast the day before.  I’m a planner to the extreme and don’t often step out of my comfort zone.  In the spirit of growth, I’m declaring this the summer of getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.  I plan to try something new every Tuesday and share it with you.  It might be a new yoga pose, a recipe, attending an event with my boyfriend, anything that I’ve been meaning to try but have been too afraid to actually do.  My first “try-it” – this blog!  Nothing like jumping right in.

Here are a few things I hope to try: holding crow pose, cooking tofu (I seem to have an irrational fear of this!), dance class, hot yoga, going a full day without dairy, learning a language, making my own cashew milk, meditating for 30 minutes and really being in the moment, and cooking a meal without a recipe.  What’s on your “try-it” list?
