Incorporating green smoothies into your morning or afternoon is a great way to naturally boost energy, increase your intake of dark leafy green vegetables, and flood your system with easy to digest nutrients.  And I’m not talking about the sugar filled kind you can pick up at the corner store or fast food restaurant!

You don’t need any fancy equipment or ingredients to make a green smoothie.  It can be as {simple} as 1 – 2 – 3:
(1) greens
(2) fruit
(3) liquid

Basic 123 Green Smoothie
-1 cup or large handful of organic baby spinach
-1 banana
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Add everything into blender and blend until smooth.

You can mix and match from this list of my personal favorite ingredients and have endless options.  If you’re short on time in the morning, prepare your smoothie ingredients the night before.  Simply add everything to a mason jar and store in the refrigerator overnight.  If you add frozen fruit, add it in the morning.

Greens: baby spinach, kale, swiss chard, turnip greens, mustard greens, romaine lettuce
Fruit: frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, banana, strawberries, pineapple, mango, raspberries, blackberries
Liquid: unsweetened nondairy milk (almond, hemp, coconut), coconut water, filtered water, green tea
Optional boosts: raw cacao powder or nibs, maca, goji berries, avocado, shredded unsweetened coconut, cinnamon, almond butter, protein powder, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, flax oil, spirulina, probiotics, raw honey, bee pollen
