I was in Ireland in August for vacation. I packed so many healthy, paleo snacks. I’ll be following up with a post about my healthy traveling tips but one of my favorites was Rx Bars. I had never tried them but they literally sustained me on the trip. They aren’t sickly sweet like other date-based bars and loaded with protein from egg whites. My favorite flavors were apple cinnamon, coconut chocolate and chocolate sea salt.
I’ve been working on establishing a better sleep routine and have been adding in lavender essential oil. I dab a few drops behind my ears, on my wrists and in my palms. I close my eyes and take several deep breaths while listening to Jordan Bach’s bedtime mantras. Lavender is IT when it comes to relaxation and sleep. It’s been a really hot summer and I’ve been drinking A LOT of coconut water. Coconut water is a great source of electrolytes and potassium. Instead of reaching for a sports drink – grab some coconut water. I use it as the base for smoothies for a hydration boost in the morning.
My friend and women’s hormonal health coach Nicole Jardim got to talking this summer at Kriplau. I was telling her about my health concerns and she suggested that I take digestive bitters. A and I both started new jobs in the last week and my planner has become my lifeline. I am totally and completed OBSESSED with Kite Hill Almond Ricotta. Like REALLY obsessed. I never liked ricotta when I was eating dairy but this almond ricotta…it was love at first taste. I’ve been all about salads this summer with organic rotisserie chicken, Tessemae’s balsamic dressing, and this ricotta.
