As always, the universe steps in to give me a message loud and clear and it was everything I needed.  (Thank you, more please.)

Gabby reminded me of how important it is to start before you’re ready.  For most of us, especially those of us with limiting beliefs and perfectionist tendencies, starting before you are 100% ready is just about the scariest thing that you can do.  In fact, it seems downright impossible.  But perfectionism has this nasty habit of becoming procrastination which is a one-way ticket to stagnation.

When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off. – Yogi Bhajan {Tweet it!}

This wisdom from Yogi Bhajan has proven true time and time again in my life.  I’ll get an idea or intuitive hit and my fear/perfectionism will come out full force.  I feel the pressure of the swallowed idea, the weight of my fear, and disappointment about a wasted opportunity.  And, take it from me, that is so much worse than the worst thing that could happen by just acting on my idea.

But when I just follow the old school Gabby advice of “Eff it let’s go” and just get started, it’s like Yogi Bhajan said – the pressure immediately lifts.  The fear shrinks and I feel inspired and energized.

So, how do you start before you’re ready?  The truth is…you just have to decide to start.

You are already ready.  As Joan of Arc said, “I am not afraidI was born to do this.”  Let this become your daily affirmation.  Know that you have all that you need and you are always guided and supported.  The magical box of readiness will never arrive because you are waiting for something that doesn’t exist.  No matter how long you wait, how much your practice, study, or train, or how much you plan – you will never feel ready.  Until you actually get started.  Confidence comes from experience and the only way to gain it is by doing.

Some of the best things in my life have happened because I started before I was ready.  Meeting Andrew.  Adopting Scout.  Starting this blog.  Attending Spirit Junkie Masterclass.  Coaching.  Becoming a speaker and teacher.  I didn’t feel ready for any of it but I did it anyway.  My desire was greater than my fear.  And my life is better for it.
