Yesterday was Gabby Bernstein and Kris Carr’s annual Crazy Sexy Miracles lecture. This is always one of my favorite inspiration bombs of the year. Gabby and Kris are true soul sisters. Their love and support for each other oozes from their pores and creates an energy unlike anything that I’ve seen or felt before. I always take pages and pages of notes during their talks and yesterday delivered some MAJOR miracle lessons about how to say yes and show up for your life.
When you’re ready, the Universe will move mountains to support you.
This is such an important reminder that the Universe always, always, always has your back. It doesn’t give you what you can’t handle and is rooting for you at every turn. The Universe is gently guiding you toward the next right action. It is preparing you – providing you with the assignments and lessons you most need – to step into your life more fully and deeply. And the moment that you are ready it swoops in to walk along side you and hold you up when you need it. Maybe you get laid off right when you are feeling called to change careers. Maybe your mom calls you at the exact moment you are open to advice. Maybe you start to see feathers, hearts or repeating numbers the second you ask for a sign that you are on the right track. The Universe is able and willing to move mountains which means that you don’t have to make it happen. You just have to allow it to happen.
When you think you’ve surrendered, surrender some more.
Ah, sweet, sweet surrender. Gabby reminded us that we can’t surrender enough because there is always just a little more control that we can release. Surrender is about taking our hands off the wheel, as Gabby put it. It’s about trust. It’s about letting go and letting God (spirit, Buddha, grandma, the Angels). Surrender can seem like an abstract thing. That’s okay. You don’t need to really know how – you just need to be willing. Pray to surrender. When you find yourself controlling, planning, or expecting say, “I am willing to release this.”
Forgive yourself for sucking.
How amazing is this one?! Knowing from the start that you are going to suck, fail, mess up or fake it at some point is freeing. You can be as certain of that as you can be that the sun will rise and set again tomorrow. If it’s a fact, there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it. So why not just let it go? Let go of the fear of sucking. Let go of the guilt. Let go of the effort to avoid it. As Kris exclaimed, “If you’re sucking someplace, you’re likely kicking ass someplace else!” As much as we hope and try, doing it all with the same effort and success isn’t possible. Our life is a constant dance of push and pull. We give in one area and take from another. You can’t be all things to all people – including yourself. Give yourself permission to slow down and focus on one moment at a time, knowing that in doing so you might be sucking (aka not fully showing up or experiencing) in another moment. And that is okay. Forgive yourself.
There is no fixed you.
The you that you are in this very moment is not the you that you are going to be tomorrow or even later today. Just as certain as you can be that you are going to suck as some point, you can trust that you will change. It (and you) is not always going to be like this. Honor where and who you are now. Show up for that version of yourself. We spend an insane amount of time judging who we were, who we are and who we will be instead of just being.
